Pink Lepidolite Tourmaline Point 

Lepidolite and tourmaline commonly occur together in Brazil. This unusually coloured point was originally sold to me as pink tourmaline, but its sweet purple-pink tone always stood out as something different.

After closer study, I believe the piece is predominantly pink lepidolite, possibly with some pink tourmaline present. The colour and opacity seem consistent with the rare lepidolite pseudomorphs after tourmaline found in Brazil— where the original tourmaline has been replaced by lepidolite. 

As I cannot confirm with certainty whether this specimen is a true pseudomorph or determine the dominant mineral proportion, it is labelled conservatively as Pink Lepidolite with Tourmaline. A very small section of green tourmaline is visible at the base.
