Pink Moss Agate is a relatively uncommon variety, prized for its natural pink colouration (not dyed) and intricate moss-like patterns. I just ove the deep forest green in this piece.

Recent research from 2025 suggests that the branching filaments that moss agate is famous for, were once fungi or algae. Upon degradation, these ancient organisms were replaced by green mica (celadonite).  While it is uncertain if all moss agates form this way, this Pink Moss Agate might carry a fascinating piece of natural history.
