What is Euclase?

Euclase is a rare beryllium-bearing mineral prized by collectors for its clarity, glassy lustre and well-defined crystal formations. This Brazilian specimen displays delicate aqua-blue colour zoning against a contrasting white mica matrix, likely caused by trace iron-related colour centres. Despite its hardness of around 7.5, Euclase has perfect cleavage, making it more fragile than its hardness suggests. Its rarity, beautiful colour and fine crystal form make it a striking collector specimen.
