What is Blue Herderite?

Blue Herderite is a rare calcium beryllium phosphate mineral made popular as part of the 12 Ascension Stones. In the crystal trade, blue material is often best described as part of the Herderite–Hydroxylherderite group, as true Herderite is fluorine-dominant while Hydroxylherderite is hydroxyl-dominant and can occur in light blue, blue-green,purple, and lavender tones. The two minerals can look very similar without testing.
