What Is A Twin Sceptre Amethyst?

A sceptre crystal forms when growth restarts after stopping. A true sceptre quartz develops when an older crystal stops growing and later receives a new generation of silica-rich fluid. The second generation grows mainly at the tip, creating a larger "cap" on a narrower stem. This means a sceptre crystal preserves evidence of at least two distinct geological growth stages.

A twin sceptre combines two rare crystal phenomena at once. A twin sceptre is both a twinned crystal and a sceptre crystal. Twinning occurs when two quartz crystals share part of the same crystal lattice in a symmetrical orientation. Think of it as 2 tree trunks growing from the same base.
