What Makes This High-Grade Sunstone Special?

What truly sets this Sunstone apart is its strong adularescence — a moonstone-like silver sheen that appears when the crystal is angled in light. While aventurescence is the classic optical effect associated with Sunstone, adularescence is more commonly associated with Moonstone. Seeing both effects together in one feldspar specimen is unusual, giving this point a rare combination of fiery sparkle and soft silver sheen.

This high-grade Sunstone point is densely filled with reflective hematite platelets, creating the sparkling optical effect known as aventurescence. In direct sunlight, these tiny metallic inclusions catch the light from within the feldspar, producing the fiery shimmer that makes quality Sunstone so desirable.

The crystal displays a rich blood-orange colour with smoky quartz-like patches and fine rutile-like inclusions visible under magnification. These internal features add depth, texture, and individuality to the piece, making it especially visually complex.
