What is Star Rose Quartz?

Star Rose Quartz is a rare variety of rose quartz known for its luminous star-like pattern, called asterism. Contrary to popular belief, this effect is not caused by rutile. In exceptionally rare specimens, double asterism may occur, which scientists suggest is linked to two minerals—dumortierite and boron-bearing sillimanite—interacting within the quartz.
