Many sellers sell this under the trademarked name "Ocean Jasper". However this trademark is reserved for those mined at a very specific location in Madagascar. Additionally, these materials are considered to be chalcedony, rather than jasper.

Locality: I was told it’s from Madagascar, but I suspect it may actually be from Indonesia, where it’s collected from rivers—still relatively rare, though difficult to confirm.
