Light Minty Kornerupine (Very Rare)

Kornerupine is a rare boron-bearing gemstone that forms under very specific high heat and pressure conditions, making fine material uncommon worldwide. Because boron is not often concentrated in the right geological environments, gem-quality kornerupine is especially scarce.

Its colours come from trace elements within the crystal — iron produces many of the green and especially bluish-green tones, while chromium and vanadium can deepen the green. The finest, most vibrant stones come from Tanzania and are highly prized for their strong saturation.

Kornerupine is also pleochroic, meaning it can show different colours from different angles, giving it a beautiful shifting depth in the light.

Kornerupine are usually very expensive but I was incredibly lucky to get them at a very fair price. I have uploaded photos of the blue, green, and light coloured Kornerupines in different lighting (the last 2 photos) for your comparison.

Energetically these light green Kornerupine were pretty much the same as the more saturated green stones, although those had a bit more intensity.
