Labradorite Facts

Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar known for its striking play of colour, called labradorescence. Microscopic layers within the feldspar interact with light, producing flashes of blue, green, gold, orange, and sometimes purple as the stone moves. Strong flashes against a dark body colour are especially prized and result from the arrangement and thickness of these internal layers.
