How Are Amethyst Sceptres Made In The Lab?
Lab-created Amethyst Sceptres can be produced using hydrothermal quartz growth, where quartz crystallises from hot, mineral-rich water inside a sealed, high-pressure autoclave. The distinctive sceptre and artichoke-like form can develop as later quartz grows over an earlier crystal, creating overlapping layers and faces. The purple colour is associated with iron impurities and irradiation within the quartz.
