What is Goethite on Elestial Quartz?

Goethite is an iron oxide-hydroxide, and can come in different structures but this piece presents itself in needle-like forms. Sometimes it is mistakenly marketed as the rarer mineral Hollandite.

Elestial quartz is a loose marketing term but such quartz are formed when smaller quartz crystals grow over an older crystal. As they develop within the same crystal structure, their faces align in the same direction as the original crystal, creating the layered terraces and stepped formations characteristic of elestial quartz.
