What is Candy Fluorite?

Candy Fluorite is a trade name used by crystal sellers and collectors for fluorite that displays soft, pastel "candy-like" colours, often featuring bands of mint green, lavender, blue, pink, yellow, and clear fluorite. It isn't a separate mineral species—it's still fluorite (calcium fluoride, CaF₂).

Those gorgeous stripes and colour zones form because the chemistry of the mineral-rich fluids changed as the crystal grew. Different trace elements and natural radiation can produce different colours within the same crystal.

Much of the Candy Fluorite sold today comes from deposits in China.
